- 131 Middle St, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464
- Dog rules & hours
- Big harbor-front lawn in the Old Village, with live oaks, walking paths and Charleston Harbor views, and a playground across Middle Street. It's a favorite neighborhood dog-walking spot. Dogs must stay on a leash (8 ft max). Alhambra is not an off-leash area. Mount Pleasant's leash law covers "every area of Town" except designated dog parks, and the Town's "Leash Up MTP" page lists fines of $163.50 for a first offense and $361.25 after that. Mount Pleasant police began handing out warnings and tickets for off-leash dogs during the 2024–25 renovation, and in December 2025 a council committee dropped a proposal for off-leash hours. Dogs over 6 months need a rabies tag on their collar (§ 90.54). Pick up after your dog. Hours aren't posted on the Town's site; when the hall reopened in Aug 2025, the Town said visitors were welcome anytime until official hours were set. There's an on-site lot with expanded accessible parking. It's often busy with weddings and events, and renters can't close the lawn to the public. Want off-leash play nearby? Try the fenced dog parks at Memorial Waterfront Park (under the Ravenel Bridge, a short drive away) or Palmetto Islands County Park.
